Usher’s Son Rushed To Hospital After Pool Accident
Update: TMZ is reporting that Tameka Raymond has filed legal documents requesting an emergency hearing this week in an effort to regain custody of her two sons from ex-husband Usher. In the documents filed in Fulton County, Georgia, Tameka claims Usher is failing to fulfill his duties as a father by letting other people take care of the kids. The singer was granted full custody of the children in August 2012, following a bitter divorce. Tameka has limited custodial rights.
Usher’s son Usher Raymond V has been hospitalized after an accident in the singer’s pool.
Sources tell TMZ that the incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Monday. The five-year-old was rushed to the ICU at an Atlanta hospital. Usher was not home at the time.
Usher Raymond V, who Usher calls Cinco, is the oldest of Usher’s two sons with ex-wife Tameka Raymond. Both parents are currently at the hospital.
The child was playing in the pool with his aunt and saw a toy in the drain. He swam to retrieve the toy and his arm got caught in the drain. The aunt immediately dove in, but couldn’t free his hand. The maid then jumped in the pool and tried but was also unsuccessful.
Two men working in the house came to the rescue after the maid screamed for help and freed the boy. He was given CPR immediately and rushed to the hospital. Usher arrived and drove in the ambulance with his son.
The child’s lungs reportedly filled with water and he underwent some form of resuscitation. Doctors have run a series of tests and it seems like he’s doing fine at this time.
Usher’s 11-year-old step son Kile passed away last year from injuries sustained in a jet ski accident.
